The Dog Pawse Mission

The Dog Pawse mission is to bridge the gap in the relationship between humans and their canine counterparts through the process of asking questions and finding answers.
People and dogs have shared a special association that spans over 15,000 years. From its prehistoric role as companion in the hunt for survival, to a modern day prescription for alleviating loneliness in a culture that continues to become increasingly isolated, the dog has faithfully remained at the side of humanity throughout the ages. Yet, in spite of this long history, many people somehow still seem to know very little about their relationship with this creature that intimately shares their lives. Interestingly, the origin of the word dog, according to the on-line etymology dictionary, "remains one of the greatest mysteries in the English language."
The relationship between people and their dogs is pregnant with possibilities for intra-relational well-being and healing. Still, the most common complaint people have about their dogs is nuisance barking. The Dog Pawse site takes an integrative approach to the human-canine relationship. We are interested in exploring the various aspects of humanity's relationship with dogs.
